A Decade of "O'Ceagan's Legacy" and Exciting Updates!
Ten years ago, I published my first novel—a science fiction fantasy adventure titled O'Ceagan's Legacy. While I still think it’s a fun and fantastic story, my writing has come a long way since then. That’s why I’ve decided to revisit the book for a re-edit, polishing the prose, enhancing scenes, and even adding some new material. It’s still the same story readers have loved—just better.
In addition to the updated content, I’ve also given the cover a fresh, intriguing new look. Let me share a little story about the original cover: When I found it, I was thrilled—it was a premade design that seemed to capture the essence of the novel perfectly. Little did I know it would run into trouble with both Amazon and Facebook!
Why, you ask? Believe it or not, they deemed the image "sexually suggestive." (I know, I couldn’t believe it either!) On Facebook, I had to cover up the "offending" part with a banner just to promote the book. Amazon advertising? No luck there at all. While I still love that original cover, I decided to switch it out for something more universally acceptable. The new cover, teased in the graphic at the top of the page, will be revealed in full on February 18th—and I can’t wait for you to see it!
Right now, I’m wrapping up edits on the re-release, which is scheduled to launch on February 28th under my Lillian I. Wolfe pen name. At the same time, I’m working on the first edit of the second book in my Spotlight Sleuth cozy mystery series—busy days, but I’m loving every minute!
On top of writing, I’ve taken on a pretty big project for my homeowners’ association. I volunteered to scan 20 boxes of records—yes, twenty! While it’s saving the HOA a big chunk of money, it’s no small task. At about 15 hours a week, this is going to take a couple of months, but I’ll be stepping down from the HOA board this year. It’s time for some fresh faces to take the reins.
And waiting in the wings is the third book in my Time Threads series. The first draft is almost done, and I’m looking forward to diving into revisions once I wrap up my current projects.
That’s my recap for the past few weeks—how have you been? I’d love to hear about what’s been keeping you busy. Drop a comment, and I’ll see you next week with more updates!
